We cultivate awareness of sustainable farming, food production, and environmental care, helping learners understand agriculture’s role in community health and global sustainability.
The Fall Community Gardening Day brought together families, schools, and community groups to celebrate the spirit of agriculture and togetherness. From colorful farmers market booths filled with local produce to hands-on 4-H demonstrations and gardening education, the day was full of learning, laughter, and growth. Children explored creative activities, local artisans shared their crafts, and everyone enjoyed delicious food and fellowship.
Hosted at CM Farm Ranch in Clayton, Louisiana, and supported by H.O.P.E. Outreach, Senator Katrina Jackson, the LSU AgCenter, and Seeds to Success, the event captured what community agriculture is all about — learning, sharing, and thriving together.
Farmers, community members, and agricultural leaders gathered at the Southern Development Business Center in Lafayette, Louisiana, for an evening focused on sustainability, conservation, and empowerment. Hosted by H.O.P.E. Outreach in collaboration with the USDA and The KKAC Organization, this outreach meeting opened vital discussions on programs designed to strengthen America’s farms.
The day offered an opportunity to connect innovation with real-world application in agriculture — exploring modern equipment, sustainable practices, and the future of farming.

Individuals and families can grow gardens in a wide variety of ways and approaches. These approaches can be as simple as leveraging a simple flower pot (hanging, grounded), garden container, or dedicating a portion of the family’s backyard to supporting community gardens. Home gardens can provide many social, economic, environmental, and community benefits.

In response to the potential opportunities, H.O.P.E. Outreach along with Senator Katrina Jackson have developed MyLAgardens. MyLAGarden is a program that combines education along with practical gardening experience in Concordia, East Carrol, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, and Tensas parishes. The program will include the expansion, development, and support for gardeners by providing garden boxes (4’x4’ and 4’x8’) for homeowners and support for personal gardens.
